About the project.

HomeHive is a mobile app designed to help homeowners quickly diagnose and resolve common household utility issues. The product combines AI-powered troubleshooting with on-demand technician support, enabling users to get immediate guidance for problems involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Wi-Fi, and more. If the issue requires professional help, the app seamlessly connects users to a nearby verified technician — creating a smooth path from problem discovery to resolution.

My role.

  • Defined problem, solution, and project goals around reducing homeowner stress and simplifying complexity.
  • Designed conversational AI troubleshooting flows and technician-request experiences in Figma.
  • Established a calm, trustworthy visual identity with a balanced neutral palette and a single accent used sparingly.
  • Followed iOS and Material Design best practices, adapting patterns for AI chat and service-request flows.
  • Grounded hierarchy, tone, and microcopy in user research insights about stress and overwhelm.

Achieved.

  • Designed a guided troubleshooting experience that surfaces only the information users need in the moment.
  • Bridged digital and physical support — independent AI guidance with clear escalation to verified technicians.
  • Built a mobile-first UI optimized for iOS and Android spacing, components, and tap targets.

Impact.

Home maintenance issues are stressful, especially without technical knowledge. HomeHive aims to reduce that stress by making diagnosis calm and clear, helping users troubleshoot efficiently, and connecting them to professional help only when it’s needed.
